You can switch on/ off the FIR-layer. The FIR boundaries are showen on the map with their name. If you have access to a GPS-signal (maybe you have to connect an additional GPS device, connected by bluetooth with your iPad), you'll get an alert when you cross an FIR-border - you tap on the iPad-screen and the FIR-alert is stopped. This "alert-option" is switchable as you see in the 2nd screenshot.
